Protective Action for Concussion Technology

P.A.C.T is an impact analysis system for boxing that utilises motion sensing to detect total punches, punch magnitude as well as providing warnings of potentially dangerous blows to the head. It has the primary goal of prompting earlier concussion diagnosis and preventing further injury but also has additional training benefits. The ultra slim sensor is conveniently worn in the back of a secure elasticated headband, suitable for use with or without headgear.

When the P.A.C.T system detects a potentially dangerous head acceleration, a nearby observer is alerted and the boxer can be pulled out of sparring before injury becomes more severe. The athlete is then encouraged to undergo concussive assessment. During this, a medical professional has a clearer picture of the mechanism of injury and can carry out a more informed diagnosis and treatment process.
