Revolution

An Accessible Shower for All.

Designed by L. Natalia Martínez González

Falls are the leading cause of injury among older adults, with bathrooms being the most common and dangerous setting. Over a third of people aged 65+ living independently fall in the bathroom each year, often resulting in serious physical and psychological consequences, including fear of falling, reduced mobility, and social isolation.

Revolution offers a safer, more inclusive shower design. Its rotating screen features an integrated chair, allowing users to enter and exit the shower while seated, avoiding slippery surfaces. The mechanism can be operated independently by using the feet or with the help of a carer. Inside, all essentials are within easy reach from a seated position.

Inside the shower, all essentials are positioned within arm’s reach from a seated position. Foldable armrests provide additional support for sitting and standing, while anthropometric data ensures comfort and usability. A secondary entrance, made of two sliding screens, accommodates standing users and allows carers easy access when needed.
