PLANTA

The project concept is a ‘plant cyberpunk’ that combines plants with smart homes. ‘PLANTA’ is a smart plant housekeeper with a personality. It is designed to control domestic appliances at home by analysing the electrical signals of the plants and interpreting this as a way of understanding their feelings about their environment. At first, users select plants that have the roughly the same temperature preferences as they do. In the home environment the plant will then be enabled to monitor and ‘control’ the air conditioning, curtains, lights and so on according to its own preferences and the users’ preferences. But if you adjust the temperature to too cold or too hot, the plant will be angry/upset and will attempt to change this back to its own preferred temperature!
