PINACL

The first performance football boot designed to reduce incidents of non-contact ACL injury.

Designed by Campbell Bowman

In the UK, over 20,000 ACL injuries occur annually, 70% of which occur with no physical contact at the time of injury. Injuries of this type are often triggered by excessive rotational traction on unpredictable playing surfaces. While the market leaders chase minor performance gains, PINACL prioritises player safety by integrating a safety mechanism directly into the boot’s structure.

The system utilises a mechanical fuse housed within a replaceable heel counter, paired with an adhesive-free grooved interface. This configuration ensures structural rigidity is retained during standard playing conditions but allows for an instantaneous release of the upper from the outsole when torque levels reach critical injury thresholds.
