UpCycle

With the introduction of the Avenues program in Glasgow, the constant rise in urban cyclists and climate change concerns I developed an automated bicycles parking solution called the UpCycle.

The design houses 20 bikes in a car parking space, it protects the user’s bikes from theft, weather and vandalism.

Bicycles are hung from their front wheel to maximise the space available; cyclists use a RFID technology to grant them access to the unit removing the need to carry a bike lock.

The product aims to help encourage people to choose cycling as their mode of transport and create a community around them.
